Alameda County Conservation Partnership: catching water at WOW Farm

Thanks to a grant from Alameda County Conservation Partnership, we built a rain water catchment system, pictured below, for the WOW Flower Farm. The structure will catch rain water (we are ready for El Nino!) that can be used throughout the farm. This will boost our water conservation efforts as well as illustrate our teaching lessons about water as a precious and scarce resource. The system also  doubles as a shaded working area out of the hot sun making a more comfortable environment for all on the farm.
